ICC organises music talent search contest

Some 150 boys and girls pitted their musical skills against each other in this year’s ICC-VIP music talent search competition which took place yesterday and on Thursday. The competition, organised by Indian Cultural Centre (ICC), was opened on Thursday by Dr Ashok Amrohi, minister at the Indian embassy. Also present were O P Kuthiala, second secretary, Ganesh Srinivasan, general manager of Gulf Incon, the sponsor of the event, and M I Farid, president of ICC.

According to K M Varghese, the cultural secretary, competitions were conducted in 24 different categories. The contestants were divided into categories: boys and girls among juniors, intermediates, seniors, men and women.
There were contests in classical, light, Western and instrumental music.
